Italian reading level test
Short passages with three questions each. Answer well and the next one is harder; struggle and the next one is easier, until the test finds your reading level.
- Passages in Italian, questions in English
- 3 passages at most
- About five minutes
How it works
The test starts in the middle
The first passage is B1, not A1, so you reach your level in fewer passages.
The next passage depends on your answers
Get two of three questions right and the next passage is one band harder. Get one or none right and the next passage is one band easier. The test ends after three passages at most.
You see every answer
At the end you see the passages you read, your reading pace, and every question with the answer you picked and the misreading each wrong answer was written to catch.
What this is
This measures whether you followed the passage, not whether you recognized the words. It is a comprehension check rather than a placement exam, so treat it as a good signal about reading and nothing more.
